Cycle Touring — Door County, WI

Category: Bicycling

Fri - SunNov 3 - Nov 52023
  • Estimated Cost: $125
  • Max Trip Size: 6 people
Description:

This is a weekend bicycling tour of the main portion of the Door County Peninsula in Wisconsin. We will arrive in Sturgeon Bay the evening of Fri, Nov 3, about a 5 hr drive from St Paul, and start biking late morning on Sat, Nov 4. On Sat we will bike about 40 mi along the scenic Bay Shore Dr, including a ride through the lovely Peninsula State Park. On Sun we will cross over to the eastern side of the peninsula and return to Sturgeon Bay via Bailey Harbor, Cave Point County Park, and Whitefish Dunes State Park.

The route link is here.

It is entirely pavement and we will stay in inexpensive motels. Daytime high temperatures are expected to be low to mid 40’s. There is no support vehicle and so we will need to carry some snacks, water, spare tubes, and clothes. Since the ride takes place after the peak season in Door County it should be quiet with low traffic.

Cost will include shared rooms, about $125,  food, and gas.
