Cycle Touring — Juneau, AK and YT, Canada

Trip FullCategory: Bicycling, Camping

Fri - MonJul 4 - Jul 212025
  • Max Trip Size: 4 people
Description:

I am looking for a small group of fearless and determined bicyclists to tour Alaska and the Yukon along the so-called Golden circle. This well known route begins in Juneau, AK and then proceeds from Haines, AK to Haines Junction, YT to Whitehorse, YT to Carcross, YT to Skagway, AK and back to Juneau. The first and last legs are along the Alaskan Marine Highway. I would also like to hike the King’s Throne trail in Kluane National Park and part of the Chilkoot (Klondike gold rush) trail out of Skagway. Accommodations along the tour will be entirely camping, mostly at established campgrounds but with the possibility of dispersed camping if that is the only option. Our maximum daily distances will be less than about 60 mi per very long day. The route and most of the possible campsites are shown in this link. This needs to be a tight-knit, experienced team and so preference will be given to those riders that I have bicycled with before on multi-day, self-supported Rover tours.

Costs: plane fares, ferry fares, food, camping, bear spray
