Backpack in the Anza Borrego Desert, a 500,000 acre desert park with palm oases, year-round water, abundant wildlife, and archaeology. Prior backpack experience, broken in tough hiking boots, and hiking poles required. Be able to carry all your gear plus at least 1 gallon of water. No trails: we’ll be using map and compass over sometimes rough and prickly, (but beautiful!) terrain.
