Winter is around the corner and the plants and animals at Fort Snelling State Park are making final preparation for surviving the winter. Join a park naturalist for a short hike with several stops for discussion on the trail. This is open to all (no kids required)
For those who would like to stretch their legs a bit more, join us for a child-led hike at Pike Island afterwards. There are 1,2 or 3 mile loops, all of which are all-terrain stroller friendly. Note- on a child-led hike, it’s all about getting them to interact with the trail/nature. We may not cover much ground, but their slow pace will surely help you see things in a whole new light.
Meet in front of visitor center, near teepee. We will hike out with the naturalist at 10am. My husband or I will be wearing a blue Osprey pack. Feel free to contact me if you have trouble finding us (612-978-7906 Tess)
Note- hike event is free, but you will need a Minnesota State park pass.
