Full Moon Night Bike Ride

Thu, 5:00amMay 272010
Description:

Please join us biking on the Gateway Trail for what is sure to be an exhilarating experience! The sun sets at 8:47 p.m. and the full moon rises at 9:03 p.m.. We’ll meet at 7:45 p.m. at the DNR trailhead parking lot in Oakdale across Hwy 36 from Fleet Farm (directions below). Please be ready to ride no later than 8:00 p.m.. We will bike slowly for about 1.5 – 2 hrs. Guests welcome! Rover membership is not required for day trips. Optional socializing after the ride. Due to the unique nature of this trip, there will be a special emphasis on safety. Helmets are required as are front and rear reflectors and lights. Your bike needs to be in good working order. We recommend you bring a camping-style headlamp, too. A mandatory safety inspection and briefing will begin promptly at 8:00 p.m. As a prerequisite to biking with us, you must have all of the required safety equipment, it must be functional, and you must be present for the safety talk. Thanks for your cooperation.

Directions the meeting location. To get to the parking lot, you must turn south off of Hwy 36 onto Hadley Avenue. Take an immediate left from Hadley onto the frontage road, which is named 55th St N. Go about 1-2 blocks and the parking lot is on your right. Please note that there are no signs directing you to this parking lot. You will not see any sign for it until the driveway. The parking lot is well hidden from the frontage road until you are right on top of it. |map|
