Ghost Bird (a Movie Night)

Thu, 5:00amMar 172011
Description:

Hey, birders (and those people just interested in a good story)! Ghost Bird is a feature length documentary about an extinct giant woodpecker, a small town in Arkansas hoping to reverse it misfortunes, and the tireless odyssey of the bird-watchers and scientists searching for the “Holy Grail” of birds, the elusive ivory-billed woodpecker. A panel discussion follows the screening. Movie is at 7:00 p.m. at the U’s Bell Museum of Natural History. We will meet in the lobby at 6:45 p.m. to buy tickets. If there is interest, we’ll gather at some Dinkytown watering hole afterward.

Cost: Free to U of M students with ID; $5 Bell Museum & The Film Society members and non-university students; $8 for general public. If you plan to come, please let me know. Estimated cost: $0-$8 . Deposit: $0. Max trip size: No limit.
