Free Admission Day at State Parks! No sticker required. Meet at main parking lot past Visitor Center.
We will hike or snowshoe at Nerstrand Big Woods State Park to get some fresh air and learn how to identify common trees in the winter. Approximately 2-3 miles.
The Park is well-known for spring ephemeral wildflowers, Hidden Falls, and the fall colors. What amazes me the most, however, are the trees and the birds. Many of the trees are over 150 years old and are huge! Bring binoculars so we can do some birding, too, but the main focus will be on the trees.
Please email me so I know who and how many to expect. Foot traction devices may be helpful. Dress warm!
