Join me on Friday for a moderately paced hike along the Minnesota River where we can see huge cottonwood trees and an old oxbow lake. It will be about 9 miles. We’ll meet at the Hwy 77 Bridge parking lot (Southeast side of River) by 10am so we can start hiking on time. We’ll cross the Hwy 77 bridge and hike towards 494, cross on the 494 bridge and hike back to the Hwy 77 bridge. We’ll mainly be on a dirt path while we aren’t on the bridges. If the weather is stormy, I will cancel and reschedule the hike.
Please send me an email if you plan on coming so I can watch for you.
Directions: Meet at the state park parking lot under the 77 bridge on the southeast side of the Minnesota River. From the cities: take 77 south and take the second exit after the bridge to Highway 13 north. Take the next left on Silver Bell Road at the “T” and then a right on Black Dog/Nicols Road. The parking lot will be on the right at the end of the road. You will need a state park sticker to park in the lot otherwise just park on the road.
Non Rovers members will need to sign a waiver (below).
