Description:

We’ve got lodging and camping reserved and a wonderful itinerary planned for hiking and exploring the Pacific Northwest (Washington). Our focus will be hiking and photography; we’ll do a day trip to the San Juan Islands for some whale watching, exploring the rainforests and beaches of Olympic National Park, hiking in Mount Rainier National Park, and a short backpacking trip to Gem Lake in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness.

Flying out Thursday night and returning 12 days later on Tuesday night (8 days off work); join us for all or part of this adventure!

THU 27 JUL – Fly out after work, stay at a house near the airport

FRI 28 JUL – Buy supplies, head to Port Townsend, explore along the way, stay in hotel

SAT 29 JUL – Day trip to San Juan Island, whale watching, drive to Mora, stay in beach house

SUN 30 JUL – Hiking in Hoh Rainforest, explore Second Beach, stay in beach house

MON 31 JUL – Explore more beaches, stay in cabin on Lake Quinault

TUE 1 AUG – Hiking in Quinault Rainforest, stay in cabin on Lake Quinault

WED 2 AUG – Drive to Rainier NP, camp at Cougar Rock, short hike Reflection Lakes or Pinnacle Saddle

THU 3 AUG – Hiking Skyline Trail in Paradise Park, camp at Lodgepole

FRI 4 AUG – Hike Naches Peak Loop around Tipsoo Lake, camp at Lodgepole

SAT 5 AUG – Hike Sunrise Rim Trail, camp at Lodgepole

SUN 6 AUG – Backpack to Gem Lake and camp there

MON 7 AUG – Explore Gem Lake, hike out, stay in rental home in Snoqualmie Falls

TUE 8 AUG – Fly home

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Membership is required on overnight trips (except for Extravaganza and Border Route Trail work trips).

It is the responsibility of both the trip coordinators and the participants to discover and share information related to each others’ experience and capabilities regarding trip-related activities and responsibilities.

It is also club policy that waiver forms be signed by all people participating in Rover events.
