Hiking at Fort Snelling State Park

Meet in the interpretive center parking lot at 7:00 p.m. We will hike the 3.5-mile Pike Island loop that goes through the woods and follows along the rivers. We should finish around 8:30 p.m. We hike rain or shine, so bring your rain gear. Bring bug repellent and water also if you’d like. Note: You must have a valid state park sticker to enter the park. Also, depending on the flooding this Spring the location of this hike may change.

Directions to Fort Snelling State Park: From Hwy 5 by the airport, take the Post Road exit and enter the park at the stone gate. Follow the main road approx. 2-3 miles. The road will end in the interpretive center parking lot.

Non-members are welcome to check out our club on any day trip, so bring a friend or two!

Estimated cost: $0. Max trip size: Unlimited.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Membership is required on overnight trips (except for Extravaganza and Border Route Trail work trips).

It is the responsibility of both the trip coordinators and the participants to discover and share information related to each others’ experience and capabilities regarding trip-related activities and responsibilities.

It is also club policy that waiver forms be signed by all people participating in Rover events.
