Description:

A trifecta of state park fun! Palisades SP (SD) has pink quartzite bluffs overlooking the rushing water of Split Rock Creek. Less than 25 minutes away are Blue Mounds SP, the city of Luverne (home of Bradenburg Gallery and Take 16 Brewing), Split Rock Creek SP, and the Sioux Falls Bike Trail. Palisades SP offers beautiful views, bluffs for rock climbing, and Split Rock Creek for whitewater paddling. Blue Mounds SP offers bison watching and 13 miles of hiking trails past quartzite cliffs, tallgrass prairie, and prickly pear cacti. Split Rock Creek SP offers paddling on Split Rock Lake (Boats available for rent) and another 4.5 miles of hiking. For bikers, Sioux Falls has a 26 mile paved trail around the city outskirts. We have reserved sites 8, 9, and 10 in Palisades SP, just over the border in South Dakota. Set up anytime after 4pm on Friday. We will have a potluck picnic on Saturday night, but the rest of your meals and snacks are on your own.

There will be room for a minimum of 7 and a maximum of 12, depending on the tenting situation (each site has room for a maximum of 2 tents). Contact the Trip Coordinators for the start times at the different venues.
