- Estimated Cost: $60.00
- Max Trip Size: 12 people
Join me for this re-scheduled weekend trip to the Chippewa National Forest and Lost 40 SNA. We’ll camp at Scenic State Park, which is approximately 30 miles from the Lost 40. Because the Lost 40 has only 1 mile of trail, it’s not enough to occupy a whole day, but don’t worry – Scenic State Park has plenty to keep us occupied, with 14 miles of hiking trails and access to Coon and Sandwick lakes for Fall paddling. Boat rental not available this time of year, so being your own watercraft.
Right now, there are plenty of campsites available in the Chase Point campground. I’ve booked one, but you’ll want to book your own at $24.00/night. Showers and flush toilets should still be available. BYO food, beverages, whatever you need for comfortable autumn recreating. We can all chip in on firewood.
Scenic State Park is located at 56956 Scenic Hwy. 7, Bigfork, MN. The estimated cost includes 2 nights camping and $10.00 toward firewood, but you’ll need to Make your own campsite reservations online through the MN State Parks reservation system. We’ll figure out firewood later. Contact me to find out which site I’ve already reserved if you want to book one in proximity. Let’s do this one rain or shine, unless truly severe weather is forecast!
