BLUEBELLS! Lots of them! Carley State Park has a Bluebell Trail along the Whitewater River and they are reputed to be at their peak right now. Let’s go and see!
Carley State Park is just east of Rochester and near Whitewater State Park. We will meet 10 a.m. at the parking lot near the picnic ground at the shelter next to the river. Follow the park road almost to the end of the park.
From the DNR website for Carley State Park: Carley State Park is located in the Bluffland Landscape Region. Towering white pines stand amid an oak forest at this beautiful park. Delicate wildflowers bloom in April and May and the trail winds around the north branch of the Whitewater River.

Let’s hike about 4 miles along the Bluebell Trail. You will need a daily or annual park pass on your vehicle. Binoculars are good to have along for bird-sighting, as are an extra pair of shoes in case it is muddy. It is a hilly park and we will cross the river at least once.
The park address is:
50187 COUNTY RD. 4
Plainview, MN 55964
Bring a sack lunch and something to drink and we can sit by the river in the picnic grounds for lunch after we finish our hike.
PLEASE RSVP! If you are not a member then you need to submit a waiver. RSVP to me directly.
