Join me for a nice wooded loop (~7 miles) around the lower half of Long Meadow Lake at the Minnesota National Wildlife Refuge in Bloomington! I did this one recently and it was quite lovely! Besides the woods, we will hike along the Minnesota River and the lake. At least one eagle’s nest will likely be visible.
I expect the loop to be some combination of packed snow, slush, and ice, so I strongly suggest wearing shoe grippers! Bring water and high-energy snacks, and dress according to the weather. A limited number of well-behaved dogs are welcome. Please contact me if you plan to bring a dog.
We will be meeting in the parking lot where Lyndale Ave ends at the Minnesota River, LOCATED HERE.
Please plan ahead so you are ready to leave on time. Send me an email or text if you are planning to come, so I can let you know of any last-minute changes!
Non-Rovers are welcome if they submit the online liability waiver below.
See you on the trails!
