Hiking & Paddling — Kathio State Park, Onamia, MN

Category: Hiking, Camping, Paddling

Fri - SunJun 3 - Jun 52022
  • Estimated Cost: $20
  • Max Trip Size: 30 people
Description:

We have Group Campsite #2 (it’s big) on the Rum River.

Hike & Paddle. No bike paths in the park, but your welcome to find some nearby and plan something.

The Rum river is high, but still paddle-able if you are experienced.
We will probably want to paddle on Mille Lacs, there’s some safer areas to paddle and rentals.

There’s an observatory tower we can hike to and up.

The weekend will look like this…
Friday night – Everyone arrives, sets up camp, BYO dinner, relax around the campfire and talk about Saturday plans
Saturday morning and afternoon – BYO breakfast, whatever you want to do, hike, paddle, be lazy at camp
Saturday night – Potluck dinner, and more campfire fun
Sunday – More activities if you want, pack up and head home

We will have group gear to help with food, coffee, stoves. People are bringing their own gear and sharing. If you want to bring gear and share, please do. There will be some group coffee, but if you have a morning coffee tea setup, please bring it along.

Coordinator(s):
Kathy L.
