- Max Trip Size: 20 people
Day-After-Thanksgiving moderate hike of 3-3.5 Miles at a pace of 18-20 minutes per mile.
Reservoir woods is a diverse natural area of 115 acres where we’ll hike through prairie, oak savannah, steep pine covered hills and around a small lake. The park hosts a couple of rare “grandmother” butternut trees.
There are many access points to this park. The one that offers the most parking is on Victoria Street N, just north of the north entrance to Roselawn Cemetary. We’ll enter the park on the Trout Creek (paved) trail, but will soon leave the paved pathway.
Meet promptly at 9:30 am. After hiking for 1-1.5 hours, those that wish to will refresh at a local coffee shop t.b.d. Leashed dogs are welcome. I’ll try to find a coffee shop that allows pups.
What to bring: water and secure foot ware as we’ll be on some steep trails with roots and rocks.
