Tamarack Nature Center
5287 Otter Lake Road
White Bear Township, MN 55110
June is winding down and I have not yet scheduled my monthly Rover’s hike. Not a surprise as I do have a tendency to procrastinate, but there is a valid reason: I’ve been experiencing an intermittent HitchInMyGiddyup.
Not wanting to fall short of commitment and realizing that I’m not alone in the HIMG situation, I have decided to go ahead with a hike-or-not opportunity to gather at Tamarack Nature Center in White Bear Township.
What I propose is an early lunch at 11 am, bring your own sandwich or salad, or just show up and munch on healthy snacks and a decadent treat or two that I’ll provide, along with beverages. We’ll visit, perhaps share a few Forest Bathing type prompts, a poem, or nature related story, then set off on journeys toward recovery at our own pace and distance.
Certainly, those who are fortunate to not have HITG’s are welcome as well. The point being that we miss our Rover friends when life is not going as planned and this is an opportunity to say Hey, catch up a bit, and commune with friends and the outdoors we so love.
Meet at 11 am at the Nature Center entrance and we’ll find a place to settle and nosh, then hike at our individual pace and distance.
