What a Deal! If you buy a WI state park sticker this month, it will be good through Dec 2024! (Thanks to Karen P. for pointing this out!). So let’s meet for a nearby Wisconsin hike at Willow River State Park. We will be able to spread out into a faster and a slower group so all paces can participate. The hike will be a loop of 6 (or 8) miles, with a stop at the falls. The extra 2 miles will be if the group wants to hike up to the Falls lookout.
We will meet at the Nelson Farm Parking lot, which is NOT the main entrance and you cannot purchase a pass at this entrance. This is our starting point You will need a WI state park pass. Yearly passes can be purchased online before you go You can purchase one here. If you wish to purchase a daily pass, you will need to come early and do that at the Visitor’s Center before we meet. Please plan ahead so we can leave on time and not make people wait in the cold.
Bring water and high-energy snacks, if desired. Dress according to the weather. At this time of year, there can be ice, snow or mud depending upon the conditions. There will be some hill climbing.
A limited number of well-behaved dogs are welcome. Please contact me if you plan to bring a dog.
Non-Rovers are welcome! Please submit the online liability waiver below.
Send me an email or text if you are planning to come so put you on the list and look out for you!
See you on the trails!
