Willow River is one of the closest Wisconsin state parks to the metro area. And, if you buy a WI state park sticker this month, it will be good through all of next year! So let’s take a hike through the park including the beautiful waterfalls. All paces are welcome and we will split into two groups if people want to go at different speeds. The hike length can be 3 miles if you head straight back after the falls. If there is interest, we will take the Nelson Farm loop back for a total of 6 miles. There will also be an extra 2-mile option to hike up to a view of the top of the falls.
We will meet a the Nature Center parking lot which is located here. You will need a WI state park pass. Yearly passes can be purchased online before you go You can purchase one here. If you wish to purchase a daily pass, stop at the entrance station on your way in. Please plan ahead so we can leave on time and not make people wait in the cold.
Bring water and high-energy snacks, if desired. Dress according to the weather. At this time of year, there can be ice, snow or mud depending upon the conditions. There may be some hill climbing.
A limited number of well-behaved dogs are welcome. Please contact me if you plan to bring a dog.
Non-Rovers are welcome! Please submit the online liability waiver below.
