Into the Deep Freeze: The Lake One Expedition — BWCA, MN

Category: Cross Country Skiing, Snowshoeing / Hiking, Winter Camping

Thu - SunFeb 19 - Feb 222026
  • Estimated Cost: $50
  • Max Trip Size: 6 people
Description:

It’s time to trade the pavement for the powder. On Thursday morning, we’re heading to the Lake One trailhead for a true winter deep-dive.

This isn’t your “backyard bonfire” trip. We’re loading the pulks and trekking into the BWCA to establish a base camp at Lake One or Two. From there, we’ll have the frozen wilderness as our playground, with day hikes going to join us for dinner into the surrounding lakes.

The Reality Check:

This is an advanced trek. We’re looking for those who know their gear, love the bite of the winter air, and have the miles under their belts to prove it.

If you’re ready to earn your views and enjoy the silence that only a frozen lake can provide, you’re in. Who’s ready to pull?

Ride sharing options will be available for those who need it.
