Kayak and Camp in the Apostle Islands

Wed, 5:00amJul 142010
  • Deposit: $75
  • Max Trip Size: 6 people
Description:

This is a trip with an outfitter, Living Adventures. We will be kayaking and camping in the Apostle Island National Lakeshore. Carpool to Bayfield on July 11. Begin paddling early on July 12, spend 5 days and 4 nights kayaking and camping in the Apostle Islands. We will visit sea caves, shipwrecks, lighthouses, and likely stop at 5 different islands. Living Adventures supplies all food (and their food is terrific), gear, boats, wetsuits, permits for campsites, etc. and an experienced kayak instructor guide. The cost is $599 for the kayak trip plus travel costs to and from Bayfield and accommodations Sunday night. There is an option to stay another day or 2 in the area and bike Madeline Island or hike a section of the Ice Age Trail in Wisconsin. A longer stay would add to the cost, although camping in the area would be an inexpensive option. Estimated cost: $599 + transportation and accommodations and possible additional options. Deposit: $75. Max trip size: 6.
