Description:

This is a kayak camping trip. I have reservations for 4 nights at a campsite on an island on Lake Namakan. To participate you must:

  1. 1. Be able to access a kayak at least 14 feet long with 2 sealed bulkheads and decklines. 2. Be able to demonstrate assisted rescues as both rescuer and rescues 3. Be prepared to camp out of a kayak for 5 days and 4 nights. 4. Agree to safety protocols, including wearing a PFD when on the water. 5 Participate in planning meetings and activities. 6 practice Leave No Trace.

Maximum of 8.

Cost is campsite reservation split among participants ($15-25, depending on number) plus your transportation. Plan to drive to Orr, Mn on July 27, arrange own stay in hotel or campground, launch on July 28. Plan to bring your own camping food.

 

Voyageurs is celebrating its 50th Anniversary with special Leave No Trace activities July 24-27. You may choose to come up earlier and participate.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Membership is required on overnight trips (except for Extravaganza and Border Route Trail work trips).

It is the responsibility of both the trip coordinators and the participants to discover and share information related to each others’ experience and capabilities regarding trip-related activities and responsibilities.

It is also club policy that waiver forms be signed by all people participating in Rover events.
