Let’s do about a 5.6-mile hike in Lebanon Hills Regional Park THIS THURSDAY prior to your Thanksgiving feast, starting promptly at 10:00 am from the Holland Lake trail head parking lot. Let’s plan on a 3.25 mile/hour average pace, even on the hills, trying not to stop much except as needed or as distracted by the scenery or when we forget how cold it is. There’ll be a brief rest break at the A-frame (and satellite) at mile 4. Water and bathrooms are available at the trail head.
No rain or snow is predicted, so consider the chance to appreciate these trails once more, especially before Saturday, when rain and snow showers may render the hiking far less desirable. Temps might be around 21 F starting out so dress accordingly and consider bringing water and snacks as desired. All well-behaved dogs, as well as all well-behaved turkeys on a leash are welcome. Meet at the Holland Lake trail head (the parking lot is entered at the end of Lexington Avenue off Cliff Road). Plan to be there on time!
