- Max Trip Size: 12 people
Come along for a medium-paced (19-ish minutes per mile/ 3.2 mph) loop hike on both sides of the Mississippi River, about 6-7 miles long, going by Hidden Falls, Minnehaha Creek, and Ft Snelling. Most of the hike will be on pavement to (mostly) avoid mud. We will also walk down and up the river bluff 2-3 times so there will be hills and stairs. Bring a great attitude, water, high-energy snacks, and dress according to the weather. There may be some ice, snow or mud; It may be good to have shoe grippers available in your pack.
Please join us if you are interested in a medium-paced hike. We will stop for occasional breaks. If you find you aren’t able to keep up with those in front, please be willing to let me know at a stop and turn back or continue the hike on your own so that the group may continue at a medium pace.
We will meet at the corner of East River Blvd and Prior Ave South, which is the south entrance gate for Hidden Falls Regional Park, which is located HERE. Please plan so we can leave on time and not make people wait. Note that clocks will “spring ahead” this day so it will feel like 9 am when we meet!
A limited number of well-behaved dogs are welcome. Let me know if you plan to bring a dog. Non-Rovers are welcome if they submit the online liability waiver below. Please send an email or text if you are planning to come in case there are last-minute changes.
See you on the trails!
