Please join us for a choice of a 6 or 9-mile loop hike along the Mississippi River! The plan is to go at a medium pace or more, so please be able to walk at least 3 mph (20 min per mile) for the duration you choose.
The route starts at the Wabun picnic area near Minnehaha Falls, crosses the river on the Ford Bridge, then continues along the east side of the river north to the Lake St-Marshall Bridge where people can cross the river and head back for a 6-mile loop. I will be with the group that continues north on a 9-mile loop crossing at the Franklin Ave Bridge before heading back. We will be on paved trails most of the time, but we will venture onto dirt paths when possible, including the Winchell trail.
We will stop for a snack /water break at about 3 miles, where the 6-milers turn off, and a lunch break a bit later on the 9-mile route to rest, eat, drink, and socialize. Please pack your own lunch/ snacks/ drinks.
Meet at the Wabun picnic area parking lot
