The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is hosting a day of Outdoor Family Fun from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. as part of National Get Outdoors Day. The DNR has asked the Rovers to help kids practice casting, bait hooks, take fish off, and assist with the educational fishing games. Fort Snelling is the place to be in the Twin Cities today as other activites include paddling. geocaching, setting up a tent, starting a fire, plant and animal identification, and more. A fishing license is NOT required in State Parks and entrance is FREE today. We’ll sign-up people up for 2-hr shifts so you’ll have time to enjoy the park and all the activities.

Directions to Fort Snelling State Park: From Hwy 5 by the airport, take the Post Road exit and enter the park at the stone gate. Follow the main road approx. 1-2 miles to the beach area, which will be on your left and has several large parking lots. Estimated cost: . Deposit: . Max trip size: 15-20.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Membership is required on overnight trips (except for Extravaganza and Border Route Trail work trips).

It is the responsibility of both the trip coordinators and the participants to discover and share information related to each others’ experience and capabilities regarding trip-related activities and responsibilities.

It is also club policy that waiver forms be signed by all people participating in Rover events.
