Outdoor Family Fun Day at Powderhorn Park

Sat, 5:00amJun 112011
  • Max Trip Size: 10 people
Description:

The DNR has asked for our help in bringing the outdoors to the people! Outdoor Family Fun Day will take place at Powderhorn Park in south Minneapolis on June 11. Visitors will have a chance to try geocaching, fishing, a laser shooting range, and canoeing, and will be shown how to set up a tent, start a fire, and camp. New this year is a photography area, the Digital Bridge to Nature. The DNR would like us to help with the geocaching and the fishing as well as the Digital Bridge to Nature (checking out cameras, printing photos, and helping people learn how to use the cameras). Come help others as they explore and learn more about our great outdoors. Activities will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and volunteers are needed for any amount of time (from one hour to four hours). If you can assist, please contact Stacey G. Estimated cost: $0. Max trip size: 10.
