Paddle Camping — Eau Claire, WI to Mississippi River confluence, WI

Category: Camping, Paddling

Sat - MonSep 21 - Sep 232024
  • Max Trip Size: 4 people
Description:

This approximately 58 mile paddle from Phoenix Park in Eau Claire, WI to Reads Landing at the Mississippi River confluence follows the Chippewa River and offers quiet, wide rivers, bluffs, wetlands, and plenty of sandy beaches. Perfect for a 3 day-2 night trip. Start at Phoenix park in Eau Claire. There are plenty of sand bars at every point along the river that we can stop and camp on without permits. There are long stretches of river where you will not see any signs of people or towns. A highlight of the area. We will paddle 15 – 22 miles per day. Shuttle options include paying Broken Paddle Guiding (based in Wabasha, MN) or self-shuttling depending on group and vehicle composition. We will use this route, minus the extra paddle across the Mississippi River to Wabasha. We’ll stay on the WI side of the river so make shuttle easier.
