Join us at 10:00 a.m. for a paddle on Murphy Lake (off of Murphy Lake Blvd) at Murphy-Hanrehan Park Reserve. Kayaks and canoes are available from the cage. As part of our new Rovers citizen science project, we will be checking out bladderwort plants and learning what it takes to get the right photos for identification purposes. Or come along just for fun. Following the paddle, we’ll download the photos to a laptop and share tips and techniques. Besides the usual snacks, water, bug/sun stuff, bring cameras with macro lenses and anything you need to download photos to a laptop.
Please RSVP. It’d be really helpful to know how many folks are interested. And then we can plan post-paddle activities! Potluck picnic? Hike? Mountain biking? Once I hear from you, I’ll send you the link to a google doc, where you can sign up to carpool, reserve boats from the cage, and find paddling partners. We’ll meet on the west side of Murphy Lake at the boat launch, the blue Placemark on the map. Need not be a Rovers member.
