Description:

Length of trip is about 13 miles. Must have river canoe/kayak skills for this trip and locate your own boat/paddling partner. Meet at Rum River North County Park canoe launch site at 9:30 a.m. The entrance to the park is located just west of St. Francis High School. We will pull out at Rum River Central Regional Park. Afterward, we can go out for dinner at a restaurant/bar in Anoka for those who are interested.

Trip will be cancelled if severe weather is forecast. Any changes to plans will be announced via the e-group.

Bring the normal stuff: 1. Clothing for cool weather if needed. 2. Rain Gear 3. Sun hat 4. Sun screen, lip balm, sun glasses 5. Old tennis shoes or sandals or aqua socks, etc. 6. Lunch, snacks, plenty of water or other beverages 7. Money for going out to eat afterwards 8. PFD, paddles, canoe or kayak 9.Clothes to change into after the paddle (you can leave them in their car).

Estimated cost: $5 vehicle permit.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Membership is required on overnight trips (except for Extravaganza and Border Route Trail work trips).

It is the responsibility of both the trip coordinators and the participants to discover and share information related to each others’ experience and capabilities regarding trip-related activities and responsibilities.

It is also club policy that waiver forms be signed by all people participating in Rover events.
