Yes, it’s 3/14 – no better time for a winter hike and social than on Pi day!
10:00 am – New meeting location for our Pi Day Hike on Saturday 3.14 has been changed to Lake of the Isles Park on the grassy knoll next to the drinking fountain on the south shore of Lake of the Isles. It’s 2.6 miles once around Lake of the Isles; add a lap around Bde Maka Ska for a total route of 6.15 miles.
It’s easy to find and there is plenty of parking in the adjacent neighborhoods:
- Intersection of East Lake Calhoun Parkway and Lake of the Isles Parkway East, Minneapolis.
- GPS (44.9512021, -93.3052781)
- Cyclers, just off the Midtown Greenway at the Lake Calhoun exit
- Lagoon & Knox bus stop for routes 12, 17, 114 & 612. following the hike, we can go to the nearby Yum Kitchen and Bakery, 4000 Minnetonka Blvd, St Louis Park (west of Calhoun North Beach on West Lake Street just past the MN-7/Excelsior fork.) They have way more than baked goods and coffee – salads, soups, sandwiches – and of course, Pie. http://www.yumkitchen.com/
