Picnic and Hike at Nerstrand after the Cannon River Clean-up!

Sat, 5:00amSep 182010
Description:

Do good and have fun at the same time! Participate in the Cannon River Clean-up – and then stay for a picnic and afternoon hike at nearby Nerstrand State Park! Autumn brings bursts of red, orange, and gold to one of the last extensive stands of the “Big Woods.” While we may be a little early for prime leaf-viewing, it should still be pretty. The picnic will take place from 12:30 to 2:00 at the picnic area (which is just past the visitors center – off of Highway 29). The hike will start from the Picnic Area at approximately 2:00. We will hike for a couple of hours. Bring water and a snack and raingear (if necessary) for the hike. Bring something to grill, a beverage, something to share with others, and your reusable plate/mug/utensils if you come for the picnic. (If you can bring a grill, please let me know!) Estimated cost: 0. Deposit: 0. Max trip size: No limit.
