Sun, 9:00am - 6:00pmApr 22023
- Estimated Cost: $15
- Max Trip Size: 8 people
Let’s see a live raptor show at the National Eagle Center in Wabasha and then hike at Frontenac State Park.
As soon as 7 people sign up to join me, I’ll purchase 8 tickets ($15 each) for admission and the “SOAR with the Eagles” program the National Eagle Center. If the event is sold out, we’ll adjust our plan to just hike at Frontenac.
Rough timeline:
- 9 a.m. – Meet off Highway 61 and I-494 in Newport, then take two vehicles to Wabasha (I’ll need another volunteer driver). We should arrive around 10:30 a.m.
- 11-11:50 a.m. – Attend the “SOAR with the Eagles” program at the National Eagle Center. Afterward we can explore the center for a bit.
- 1 p.m. – Lunch and hike at Frontenac. We’ll hike on prairie trails and the Hiking Club trail (distance tbd). I’ll call the park during the week to get an update on trail conditions. The park did say the trails below the bluff are closed due to ice.
- 4 p.m.? – Stop at Liberty’s in Red Wing on the way home for food and drink.
I’m not sure when we will get back, so plan on a full day.
Bring lunch, water, and $15.
