Want one more shot at warm weather rock climbing before winter? Come join us in at the Red Rocks Conservation Area (RRCA) just outside Las Vegas for lots of climbing fun! The rock in the RRCA is sandstone and is quite unlike the rock here in Minnesota. There are tons of route for all skill levels and climbing styles. For example, there is a multi-pitch trad route that includes climbing through a cave in the rock. There are challenging single pitch sport routes. Whatever your climbing fancy, I bet you can find something you’ll enjoy.
We have a reservation at a group campsite that can accommodate 20 people (but if more are interested we’ll find someplace for you). The trip will not be a beginner climbing trip. However, there will be plenty of opportunities during the summer to amass the requisite skills in time to go. The estimated minimum cost is about $500. However, this is only a guess and may be more depending on airfare/gas prices.
If you would like to sign-up, please email Ryan Sommers to coordinate the deposit. Once he has received your deposit you will be invited to the website with all necessary information about the trip. If you are unsure about your skill level or have climbing questions, please email Sarah. If you have questions about the trip in general, please email Ryan.
Estimated cost: $500. Deposit: $25. Max trip size: 20.
