Bored of MN single pitch climbing? Had enough Pieces of Pie and Pieces of Cake? Come join us in Colorado’s Front Range for some of the best rock and mountain climbing a quick hop from Lindbergh Terminal can get you.
Ryan and Sarah are inviting you to come visit them at their home in Lyons, CO and spend the week climbing. There will be floor space to set up your mat and sleeping bag at the house. There is a campground in town that may be up and running by fall (it is currently closed for repairs); if so, we will reserve some campsites. Meals can be in town, at the house, or on the face of the Third Flatiron.
There are thousands of routes within an hour’s drive from Lyons–hundreds within a half hour. The climbing includes all types for all skill levels. There might even be time for an alpine climb in Rocky Mountain National Park.
Nearby climbing areas (and nearby cities) include:
- St. Vrain Canyon (Lyons)
- Boulder Canyon (Boulder)
- The Flatirons (Boulder)
- Eldorado Canyon (Boulder)
- Lumpy Ridge (Estes Park)
- Rocky Mountain National Park (Estes Park)
Please note that this is not a beginner’s trip. Participants should have their own equipment and basic knowledge related to rock climbing and rope safety. If you would like to join us but are new to rock climbing, there will likely be a few Beginner Climber Days over the summer that can get you prepared, such as the Friday night weekly climbing at Taylors Falls.
The estimated cost (minus transportation) is $250 with a $25 deposit. The deposit will cover whatever campsites we reserve or other accommodations we might find.
Trip size is limited to 20 people, so act fast! If you would like to sign-up, please email Ryan to coordinate the deposit. Once he has received your deposit you will be invited to another website with further information. If you are unsure about your skill level or have climbing or route questions, email Sarah.
Estimated cost: $250. Deposit: $25. Max trip size: 20.
