Description:Eagle Cliff Campground on the Root River will be sponsoring a river cleanup for its 15th year. Canoes and shuttle are provided, and they throw a free bbq afterward for volunteers, who also get a free T-shirt. Let’s make a weekend of it.
Arrive Friday evening and set up camp at our group site by the river. This is a large privately run campground with lots of RVs (and showers!), but the tent area is quiet.
The cleanup is Saturday. In the a.m., we’ll be shuttled to the put-in and find trashy treasures in the river. Last year’s volunteers got prizes for best find but I make no promises.
