If anyone is interested, I am spending the weekend Thursday 7/7 to 7/10 in Beaver Creek Valley State Park.
It’s a quite pretty, but smaller park with some very nice hiking along trout streams.
Super isolated, in the SE corner of the state. Nice stargazing – looks like good weather for that as well.

Google Maps : https://goo.gl/maps/pnTbB7gEAmdRRBBR6
Activities : Hiking (very beautiful, a bit like Whitewater State Park), trout fishing
Bike ride : (Note : COMPLETELY OPTIONAL)
I plan on doing a pretty difficult 55 + mile (not for beginners!) ride from St Charles into this Park maybe Friday.
To do this I will take a shuttle (or drive myself there and do a shuttle to retrieve the car) there from Beaver Creek valley.
If anyone else would care to join, even just FOR THIS RIDE, they are welcome.
The route is gorgeous, but hilly (1500 – 2500 FT climb) and ends with a 2 hour climb into the park.

The day I do this on depends on weather and I expect it to take that entire day –> maybe Friday or Thursday if I have no volunteers to come with me…
