Seakayaking on Mississippi River South of Twin Cities

Sat - SunOct 22 - Oct 232011
  • Estimated Cost: $8
Description:

Weekend seakayaking/camping on the Mississippi River south of the Twin Cities. Leave Saturday mornning and return Sunday at 6:00 p.m. We will paddle a segment of the river and avoid paddling on the large lakes behind the dams. Haven’t chosen a location we’ll paddle yet, but we’ll put in no farther than 100 miles south of the cities. Distance will be about 20 miles over 2 days of paddling. I’ll provide supper/desert and breakfast. Easy to moderate in difficulty. Don’t expect wilderness, this is a working and recreational river – but with less traffic in the fall, I think you’ll enjoy the paddling and camping on the sand bar, bring a folding chair and watch the river, boats, and people go by. Estimated cost: $8. Max trip size: Open.
