Description:Day trip skiing along the bluffs and bottom lands of the St. Croix River south of Highway 70 near Grantsburg, Wisconsin in Governor Knowles State Forest. Leave at 7:00 a.m. from REI Roseville and return early evening. We will ski, breaking our trail for about 7 to 8 miles, this is a hiking trail but the skiing is easy to moderate with the exception of only two steep bluffs which are negotiated by walking up and down. Bring a day pack with extra clothing, food, and water. Moderate in difficulty because of the distance. Joint outing with the Sierra Club.
