Let’s go snowshoeing! Join me at Sakatah Lake State Park located about an hour south of the Twin Cities. The park address is 50499 Sakatah Lake State Park Road, Waterville, MN 56096
The hiking club trail is 2.2 miles but since we are already down there, we will probably explore the Big Woods Loop, Oak Tree Trail and maybe the Hidden Pond Trail. Meet in the visitor parking area near the campground entrance. Bring water and a snack as the park water is turned off for the season. Dress for the weather with warm hat and coat and gloves. I like putting Hot Hands and Hot Feet chemical packs in my mittens and boots.
BRING SNOWSHOES! I did not see any options for renting them at the park. Ski poles or hiking poles are useful to maintain your balance while on the trails.
MUST HAVE STATE PARK STICKER ON CAR.
Send me an email if you plan to attend so I can look out for you…or if you have any questions. Non-members need to sign the liability waiver (below).
