- Max Trip Size: 15 people
Join me for a morning hike around Lake Harriet (Dakota name – Bde Unma) to enjoy the beauty that is Minnesota in the summer.
We’ll start our hike at 9:30 a.m. at the Lake Harriet Bandshell. I will be waiting at the back of the benches and will try to remember to wear my Rovers gear. We’ll plan to hike for about an hour at a moderate pace (3 mph?) and do about 3 miles. Stopping at the Lyndale Park Rose Garden/Perennial Garden/Peace Garden will add on a half-hour or so. We will socialize afterwards with a stop at the Bread and Pickle for coffee (or ice cream or a beer?). So better plan on at least 2 to 2.5 hours. There is paid parking. At this time of day, there should be street parking along Lake Harriet Parkway and in the neighborhood.
Dress for the weather and wear appropriate footwear. Bring water and a snack if you want. Bring money if you want to buy something at Lake Harriet’s restaurant, the Bread and Pickle.
Let me know if you’re coming so that I have a general idea of the size of the group.
Trying to do your part for the environment by not driving? The closest bus is probably the #6 (although the 4 and the 46 are also possibilities). Getting here by bike is also a possibility.
