Trail Clean-up on the Moss Lake Trail — Rockwood Lodge – Gunflint Trl, Grand Marais, MN

Category: Summer Trips, Trail Maintenance

Fri - MonMay 15 - May 182015
  • Estimated Cost: $25
  • Deposit: $25
  • Max Trip Size: 10 people
Description:

Get down and get dirty on a BRT trail clearing trip.

It’s fun, it’s great exercise, it makes you feel good, and the scenics and camaraderie are unbeatable.

The 2.3 mile Moss Lake Trail is the final link in a 13.8 to 16.0 mile loop which includes the rugged and ultra-scenic Caribou Rock Trail, the Rose Lake Cliffs portion of the renowned Border Route Trail, and the historic South Lake Trail.

We’ll be staying at the Rockwood Lodge bunkhouse and going out during the day to do a deadfall sweep and brush trimming on the new Moss Lk Trl. We’ll also do a reconnaissance of the South Lk and Caribou Rock Trls.

You may pay your $25 trip fee/deposit via PayPal to [email protected] and reference “5/7 Moss Lake” or you may write a check in the amount of $25 made out to BRTA and sent to BRTA c/o Ed Solstad, 3701 Pillsbury Ave. So., Minneapolis, MN 55409.

We hope that you can join us for putting the finishing touches on this exciting new trail.

Thanks for all that you do for some of the most scenic trails in the Midwest,

This event is sponsored by the Border Route trail Association and is cross-posted with the Friends of the Border Route Trail, Active Outdoors – Duluth / Superior and Twin City Hiking Meetup Groups plus the Minnesota Rovers Outdoors Club.
