Trail Clearing on the SHT — Schroeder, MN

Category: Trail Maintenance

Fri - SunMay 27 - May 292022
  • Estimated Cost: $30
  • Deposit: $30
  • Max Trip Size: 9 people
Description:

The SHTA (Superior Hiking Trail) is having difficulty getting all the sections cleared this spring so I have signed up to clear another section, This section is near Schroeder, MN (county rd 1 to the Cross River) and is about 6 miles long. The trip would be Friday through Sunday (5/27 – 5/29), driving up Friday morning setting up camp and then working Friday afternoon, all Saturday and Sunday morning and early afternoon. If you can only make Saturday and Sunday that will work too. We would be doing a chainsaw sweep first then if we have time going back with hand tools to tidy up the trail edges. I haven’t reserved any camping yet. Driving costs and food would be on your own although as the trip gets closer I would try to set up car pooling.
