Wednesday Night Hike – Special Edition!

Wed, 5:00amSep 152010
  • Max Trip Size: 20 people
Description:

Hike at Lilydale Regional Park. Please note that this hike starts promptly at 6:00 p.m. St. Paul Parks and Recreation has invited the Rovers to particpate in the pilot year of Hike It!, a new interpretive hike program at Lilydale Regional Park. They have specifically requested our participation to help them kick the program off by offering Rovers the first opportunity to participate in these hikes.

Hike It! program overview: Did you know that Lilydale Regional Park was once a bustling town along the Mississippi River? Today, nature has reclaimed this beautiful park that boasts oak woodlands, floodplain forests and prairies, and a fascinating human and natural history. Volunteer interpreters will bring the park’s unique past to life on a one-hour hike from the river bottom up to Bruce Vento Overlook. Participants will hike back down the trail, on their own, after the hike concludes at the overlook. Option socializing after the hike.

REGISTRATION REQUIRED! Given the special nature of this hike, you must register for this event as the maximum trip size is 20. Please phone or e-mail Beth your full name, phone number, and email address and she will then email you a confirmation with map/directions and more details. Guests welcome! Rover membership not required for day trips. Estimated cost: Free. Deposit: . Max trip size: 20 (firm).

Sponsoring organization: City of St. Paul Parks and Rec
