Let’s hike at French Regional Park starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1. Meet at the visitor center. I think we’ll first go along the Lagoon trail do a loop past the beach and back to the visitor center. This might be 1 mile on pavement. Then we’ll go north and west to hike the Lakeview, Skyline, and Medicine trails. These are supposed to be cross-country ski trails, but the park said due to the lack of snow, we can hike on them. These should be dirt/grass, but I’m not sure if we’ll have mud with the snow melting this week.
I am unsure of the distances and time since the park map does not list mileage, I haven’t visited that park for years. If you are familiar with the park and know what the distances might be, please email that information to me. Or better yet, come along for the hike! Also, the pace will be moderate, but you’re welcome to go faster. People can always split up, and shorter/longer loops are possible.
Conditions appear favorable, but dress for the weather and maybe plan on some wind (cover your ears at least).
The park address is 12605 Rockford Road , Plymouth, MN 55441 . Free parking/admission.
For an optional post-hike socializing with food and drink, we can visit nearby Luce Line Brewing.
You do not need to be a member of Minnesota Rovers to participate in this activity. However, non-members must complete the online waiver form that appears below this trip posting.
