Winter Camper Cabins: Post Holiday Unwinding — Whitetail Woods Regional Park, MN

Trip FullCategory: Cross Country Skiing, Snowshoeing

Fri - SunJan 4 - Jan 62019
  • Estimated Cost: $75
  • Deposit: $50
  • Max Trip Size: 8 people
Description:

Relax and Unwind after all the year-end holiday hullabaloo, and embrace winter!

Just 45 minutes from downtown Minneapolis — Whitetail Woods Regional Park (Dakota County) is a lovely little park with some amazing, hard-to-secure, modern camper cabins. Bunk beds, electricity, big windows in the midst of the trees, and nearby flush toilets/shower house.

Activities: Weather depending either hiking or 6 miles of cross-country ski trails (classic) plus 10 miles more on the Lone Rock Trail at the neighboring Vermillion Highlands, 5 miles of snowshoe trails and a sledding hill. Games in the evening.

Food: Sat/Sun breakfast and Saturday dinner will be shared/assigned group meals. Friday dinner and Sat/Sun lunches will be on your own.

The camper cabins have 4 beds (room for 6 if doubling up on the double bunks) — but we will most likely hold this to just 4 per cabin to keep room for us to join together in the cabins for socializing. And please, no snorers (sorry, I’m sensitive to that in close quarters).

Coordinator(s):
