Let’s hike again much of the Voyageur Trek Trail at Lebanon Hills Friday starting at Noon Sharp, leaving from the Holland Lake trail head parking lot. We’ll head from the parking lot out to the Northern part, then circle around while passing O’Brian Lake, Cattail Pond, Lily Pond, Bridge Pond, Beaver Pond, and (probably) the east end of Jensen Lake, while we avoid all the cross-country ski trails, possibly inhabited by skiers taking advantage of their cold weather wax. This hike should be around 4.2 to 4.5 miles. Bathrooms are available where you park.
It is very much recommended you have shoe grippers or such on your hiking shoes. Expect hard-packed lumpy snow maybe covering lumpy ice. We’ll plan on a 2.5 – 3 mph pace, with emphasis as usual on enjoying the quiet, the solitude of our “Wilderness in the City”. Dress warm—the temperature is predicted to be about 11 degrees at the start, this time with no blizzard underway. Consider bringing water. Please get there on time. Bathrooms are available at the trailhead.
All dogs on leashes are welcome. Please text or email me if you’re planning to come, whether you’re a member or not. IN ADDITION, if you’re not a Rover, please sign the release below.
