Let’s do a hike of just under 5 miles around most of the Voyageur Trek Trail at Lebanon Hills Saturday starting at 9:00 AM Sharp. We’ll meet and leave from the front of the Lebanon Hills Visitor Center at Schulze Lake (the parking lot is a short drive off a turn south off Cliff Road ).
Leaving from Schulze Lake, we’ll go by Lost Pond, Portage Lake, O’Brien Lake, Lily Pond, Bridge Pond, Beaver Pond, Sedge Pond, Jensen Lake, Dakota Lake, O’Brien Lake again, Cattail Pond, and Portage Lake again, before returning by Schulze Lake to the Visitor Center. Plan on an overall 3+ mph pace, though we’ll stop as needed, and especially to view any wildlife or birds we spot (expect Black-capped Chickadees at the Visitor Center). Consider bringing binoculars.
Dress warm—three days away it looks to be about 15 degrees. The trail will be mostly hard packed snow– shoe grippers/traction devices are recommended.
Please get there on time and allow for the fact that the Visitor Center is a bit of a slow drive off Cliff Road. Bathrooms are available at the Visitor Center. All dogs on leashes are welcome.
Please text or email me at least one hour before our start if you’re planning to come, whether you’re a member or not. IN ADDITION, if you’re not a Rover, please sign the release below.
