- Max Trip Size: 10 people
Come along for a medium-fast paced (17-19 minutes per mile/ 3.2 – 3.5 mph) loop hike on both sides of the Mississippi River, about 7 miles long, going by Hidden Falls, Minnehaha Creek, and Ft Snelling. Much of the hike will be on pavement but we will go off-pavement on somewhat adventurous/questionable trails at times. We will also go from the bluff to the river & back about 3 times, which means hills or stairs. Bring a great attitude, water, hi-energy snacks (optional), and dress according to the weather. At this time of year, there can be ice, snow or mud depending upon the conditions. Shoe grippers may be very helpful if there is ice. I suggest having them available.
We will meet at the corner of East River Blvd and Prior Ave South, which is the south entrance gate for Hidden Falls Regional Park, which is located HERE. Please plan ahead so we can leave on time and not make people wait in the cold
I will be coordinating this and other hikes that are at a medium fast-paced speed. Please join us if you are interested in a medium-fast-paced hike. We will stop for occasional breaks. If you find you aren’t keeping up with the group, please be willing to notify me and turn back or continue the hike on your own so that the group may continue to hike at this pace.
A limited number of well-behaved dogs are welcome. Please contact me if you plan to bring a dog.
Non-Rovers are welcome if they submit the online liability waiver below.
Please send me an email or text if you are planning to come in case there are last-minute changes.
See you on the trails!
