- Max Trip Size: 300 people
Get outside to celebrate and enjoy winter! REI experts, Fort Snelling State Park and local outdoor organizations will provide free activities that show how fun winter can be. Activities include: snowshoeing, cross country skiing, skijoring, ice fishing, ice sculpting, naturalist guided hikes, traditional ice harvesting, winter camping info, learn to build a quinzee (like an igloo made of snow), kids snow ranger activities and much more! Equipment is provided. We’ll have hot cocoa and a big bonfire too. Join us to celebrate winter in Minnesota! The event is free, but State Park vehicle permit fees still apply – $5 day permit, $25 annual permit.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:
The Minnesota Rovers heat up winter in a way only Minnesotans can. Help others experience the joy of winter by volunteering! Minnesota Rovers will once again assist REI and Fort Snelling staff with free activities that showcase how much fun winter can be! We will be helping visitors try on snowshoes and walk around in them and the majority of guests have never snowshoed in their lives so it is a great experience for them! REI said they couldn’t do this without our help and they provide guidance upon arrival for volunteers and wonderful hand warmers that we very much appreciate! If you are interested in helping out guests with this activity please contact Monika as she can still use volunteers!
Just come, bring a friend and get ready to connect with thousands of new ones!
